We build mathematical models to understand how cellular mechanisms work. We are especially interested in understanding the roles of coupling between spatiotemporal, mechanical and biochemical processes in proper cellular functions. To build useful, data-constrained models, we work in close collaboration with experimental groups.
Current research projects in the lab include:
- Chromosome and centrosome dynamics in mitosis.
- Rhythmicity and stochasticity in gene expression.
- Bacterial gliding motility and control.
- Spatial co-propagation of phages and host bacteria.
